A few days ago a person raised an interesting question to me: what's the difference between what we want and what we really need? This led me to course through my thoughts-Do I know precisely where the demarcation of the need and the want lies? Not a clear-cut line, but more of a hazy overlap, where they interrelate.

For instance, consider an illustration. Suppose a person is required to fly to a far- off location. The most logical and the most feasible way is flying commercial; it is a need in this particular case. However, flying private, albeit doable, seems to be an excess which is not needed, even though both of which will bring you to the same place. Yet, this is far from being the only way to approach the matter. For a person who has their attention towards abundance, the experience of flying private is not something that would be classified as misuse; undeniably, they would have their reasons to argue it.
If you found this reference unrelated here's another one for you.
A nice car could be an example-it is the main method to move, but also considered as the need. The thing that won't necessarily be a necessity in this case could be a simple and cost-efficient solution to help them get from one place to another. It could be something as simple as having the ability to walk not be the case of need. Yet the fact remains that getting from one place to another in less time is the most important time saving technology having a profound effect ever .
The benefited time, some of which is human-made, is an element of how humanity has advanced.
Another one is that of the internet. More particularly social media.
Seven years ago, we more or less thought this was an annoying and unnecessary diversion. However, now that I am seeing video of charities, numerous times, in my newsfeed, especially from locations like Palestine, I finally realize that social media is more than just an entertainment platform for some people, it is a matter of life or death. Us watching their content helps them feed their children today , what ones felt unnecessary has become essential for their survival .
In the end, everything is relative, what one finds as a need another might consider as a luxury.
This difference lest to say is not a flaw-alas a feature. No two people are same and that's how Thy meant it to be.
Everything to everyone is different even in real time. Assymetry in nature has its own balance.
Unless one learns to be satisfied in what one has now, it is NEVER possible no matter what, for the person to find tranquility and peace in the lifetime.
To sum it up, true peace will always be a faraway dream unless we learn to be satisfied with what we have now. The more things or experiences we might get, the more it will become a burden for us if we do not find contentment in the present.
